‘Sun Doun’ is a large original oil painting on canvas, signed by the artist.
This painting is an expressive landscape with the sun bursting through the trees and flock of sheep moving around. It is full of movement, force and expression. It calls comes from me internally and is not based on a particular place but rather the Scotland that lives inside.
As an artist I long been enamoured of the traditions of Scottish painting and the landscapes of the Glasgow Boys. But I’ve also felt deeply the work of the Abstract Expressionists and longed to communicate pure feeling from paint.
This painting is marriage of the two. It expresses what I feel inside and what I feel is a love of the lands of Scotland.
Framed Original Artwork
We offer a professional farming service for Original Artwork at a flat rate of £60. Frames are hand-made to fit by Artist Surfaces in Anniesland, Glasgow, and ready to hang. This cost covers the cost of frame, work and the additional postage expenses.
John Martin personally selects a frame that best suits the artwork and would often be either Black, White or Grey.
We understand that this may not suit your home so please leave a note at checkout if you have a frame colour preference or call him to discuss.

Free Worldwide Delivery
Delivery is FREE for all my paintings and prints.
Buying prints from the site should be simple. Each print will be made to order so I would ask that you allow ten days to for this process and for delivery.
